Eric was born in Surrey, England some years ago and has lived in Bermuda since 1956. He is now a Bermudian citizen.
His passion for birds was fired in the Antarctic while taking part in a series of oceanographic research cruises exploring the waters around that frozen continent in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
A wildlife artist by profession, he has painted and studied the birds of Bermuda for more than 26 years and is the author, illustrator and publisher of the highly acclaimed "Guide to the Birds of Bermuda". He has also painted birds in Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, the Antarctic, the British Isles, Canada, and in several states in the U.S.
His work has been exhibited in the U. S. and in London, where he was featured in the "Bird Artists of the World" Exhibition at the Tryon Gallery, in 1972 together with such worthies as Roger Tory Peterson and Robert Bateman. He designed the much admired 1971 "Deliverance" Commemorative postage stamp and was a 1994 Best of Bermuda "Gold Award " Winner.
